2、o a target language is a permanent problem. Unique Chinese words are those lexical words which can reflect Chinese culture, exhibit Chinese connotations and radiate Chinese flavor. Chinese-specific words are unique to the Chinese and nowhere in the world can find equivalents for such words perfectly

Having no cultural equivalents in the English speaking culture, particular Chinese expressions require a keen cultural awareness and use of appropriate strategies in order to accomplish a satisfactory and accurate translation. Foreignization can break the conventions of target language and retaini

4、ng the foreignness of source language, is the basic strategy for cultural translation. Furthermore, the foreignization translation of chinese culture-specific words give it a mission of transmitting Chinese culture to the world，which to some extent enriches English vocabulary and expression both in building the bridge between English and Chinese and promoting the development of English itself.
