INTRODUCTION Risk management is in fashion. One cannot open a business magazine or an academic review without reading an article on financi

Three main reasons explain this growing interest: the prevailing economic and financial conditions over the last three- decades, advances in economic and financial theory and, finally, the availability of computing power. The need for manageme

5、nt of financial risk has increased in the wake of two major economic events: the progressive opening of national economies to the world market since World War II and the breakdown of the Bretton Woods fixed exchange rates system in the early 1970s. Since then, companies have been increasingly expose
