2、 his representative work Catch-22 signals the beginning of black humor literature. The paper endeavours to explore the survival modes of minor characters in Catch-22, reveals a rational attitude towards life implied in the novelmaking changes with optimistism and bravery, and thereby guides people t

3、o correctly handle problems in our contemporary society. The thesis approaches from the interpretation of the representative figures of all levels of society in the novel, analyses the terrible survival environment of minor charactersa dictatorial military and political regime doinated by American s

4、enior officers represented by Colonel Cath-cart and Lieutenant Scheisskopf and a corrupt and dirty economic system implemented by the American bourgeoisie, among whom the best example is Milo Minder-binder, and then focuses on the research on distinct choices of survival of minor characters like Nat

5、ely, Havermeyer, Doc Daneeka, Orr and Yossarian, as well as the reasons for their choices in such an absurd world. The paper aims at enlightening people to earnestly remold their world outlook and foster a correct outlook on life and morally sound values； encouraging people to bravely make a clean b

6、reak with the past, change their status quo and create their own destiny. Key words: Catch-22； absurdity； bureaucratic system； flying missions； minor characters 荒诞的世界 生存的选择 摘 要 约瑟夫海勒是美国的经典作家之一，其代表作第二十二条军规更是被誉为“黑色幽默”的鼻祖 。 本文 着力探究了作品中小人物的生存模式，揭示小说中蕴含的积极向上、勇于突破的理性生活态度，并由此引导 当代社会的人们 正确对待现实生活中的窘境。本文从对作品中代表人物的解读入手，分析了小人物们恶略的生存环境 即以 卡思卡特上校和沙伊斯 科普夫少尉为代表的美国军方高层主导的专制独裁的军事政治体制和 以米洛为代表的美国资产阶级实行的肮脏腐朽的经济制度，并 着重对 以 内特利、哈弗迈耶、丹尼卡医生、 约 塞 连 、奥尔为代表的一批 小人物们在荒诞体制下做出的不同的生存选择以及选择的缘由进行了探究 。本文 旨在 启迪现代社会的人们 从中汲取正能量，积极改造世界观，树立正确人生观、价值观 ， 勇于否定过去，改变现状，创造属于自己的美好明天。 关键词 : 第二十二条军规 荒诞性 官僚 体制 飞行任务 小人物
