These registers are language varieties mediated by social situations and are similar to genres. Biber took these registers from the Lancaster-Oslo-Bergen (LOB) corpus and the Lond
4、on-Lund corpus, and computed the frequency of 67 linguistic features in these registers (see Table 1 for an overview of registers).
