    3、unced at times, as with the ubiquitous adaptation of English literary classics in the 1930s, the heady facilitation of the British invasion in the 1960s, and of course the current spate of blockbuster series based on British literary franchises (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, James Bond, the Chron

What is surprising, however, is how little serious study has been devoted to these interrelated phenomena-that is, the cine-symbiosis between the US and Britain, and Hollywoods profound investment in British literature for source material.
